For those of you that fancy changing the ringtones (using your music) in your iphone
NO software needed
Not breaking any laws
And bloody easy
go to itunes and find the file you’d like as a ringtone.
right click file > get info > options.
find a part of the song you like, approx. 25-30 seconds (NO MORE THAN 30 SECS OR IT WILL NOT WORK and put in the time : start time and end time.(remember 30 sec length only)
press ok and right click again > convert to AAC.
go to your music folder (it should be there) and find the itunes folder.
Go to itunes music and you’ll have a file there(the new song).
Rename the file from YOURFILENAME.m4a to YOURFILENAME.m4r. (it will come up and say ARE YOU SURE) just click yes (Look Below if doesn't work)
If it doesn’t work and a message doesn’t pop out saying that you’re changing the file extension, then:
Control panel > Appearance and themes > folder options > view > uncheck hide extensions for known types
rename file from: FILENAME.m4a to FILENAME.m4r
double click file and it should pop up in the ringtones section. sync your iphone and it should work.(now go into your iphone...settings...sounds....ringtones and you can select it in there)
I haven't found a way to do messages yet!!!!

hmm... reasonably well known...
but.. you can just go to http://www.audiko.net (i think it is .net anyway).. and download ringtones from there... or upload and make your own.. seems a lot lot simpler, as you get a file that is just the ringtone, and it does support things longer than 30 seconds.
oh, and i haven't got a control panel on my computer...

I just bluetooth my songs from my iTunes on the iBook to my phone and use it as a ringtone, no need for all that mess?! It just plays the first 30seconds of any song I select.
What's a control panel?!:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things.
