Help please with genuine Microsoft Software

Options
We recently bought a 2nd hand computer for our 4 year old daughter, as the memory on our old one meant it worked too slowly.

We only use it for Cbeebies and itunes and we had the following message come up:
'This copy of Windows did not pass genuine validation'.

It seems we have a dodgy product key. Any idea what we can do or do we have to buy a validation key for £95 odd? (The guy we bought it from doesn't answer our calls anymore).

Please help if you can.

Best
Bo
