kids have been messing with the laptop and have got rid of my saves and put a new one on so windows opens up it has the persons name and where the passsword is its blank can anyone tell me how to bypass this please so i can sort it out i cant afford to take it to the shop huge thanks in advance also the kids have changed the admin password

hide the lap top ,- take all the cables and battery out of the back , hide any modems and disable any of their pc's , games consoles etc and put it to them that if they want any of it back they tell you the password etc - once you have this - log in as the administrator - put in your own password - do not give in0

Sounds like they have set up a second user account. Because you now have more than one Windows won't log you on automatically - it wants you to choose which user to sign on as. If so you can delete unwanted user accounts by going through the Control Panel screen to the "Users" screen.
You should be able to stop it asking for username/passwords for your normal sign on too. See this page for how to do it.
On the other hand if the kids are going to mess it up maybe forcing a password is a good idea to stop them using it without your permission.0
