Rejected for Morgan Stanley cashback card

Hi everyone,
Just been rejected for a Morgan Stanley cashback card. Will be rining them to check the details they hold about me.
In the meantime, I'm puzzled over the decision as I've never been overdrawn, never taken out a loan, don't have a mortgage etc.
People have said that this is probably the chief reason as the company know that they wouldn't make any money from me (I'd set a DD up to pay off in full every month).
Still makes you wonder though!

Do you have other CC(s)? Do you have any credit history? Order your credit files from Experian and Equifax (£2 each) ...Slimeball20 wrote:...In the meantime, I'm puzzled over the decision as I've never been overdrawn, never taken out a loan, don't have a mortgage etc...0 -

I thinkt the chief reason is lack of credit history. If rejected by Nationwide (let's hope not despite Nationwide is known to be 'choosy') try to build some credit history with a credit card for beginners: credit card for no credit history. For spending abroad apply for Nationwide current account with debit card or (easier to get) cash card.Slimeball20 wrote:People have said that this is probably the chief reason ...0 -
I was thinking about applying for the Morgan Stanley card. Do they give an instant decision or do you just submit the application and they contact you via the post.
Thanks,0 -
In answer to CTT's query - its not instant. It must be by post. Internet said application sent but i havent heard anything for over a week - anyone know how long it takes/past experience?
thanks0 -
When I applied for the MS card, I received a reply within a week. The credit limit they gave me is not high - 3600 considering I have 10K with Barclaycard.0
