Anthony,
have you called the National Debit Line TEL 0808 808 4000.. they are really good at helping people with debit problems, and will send you loads of useful information and booklets telling you how to deal with your creditors.
If you have called everyone you owe money to then Im almost sure this guy was bringing the liability order, any chance you could make a "token " payment to the council to prove your willing to pay
Please dont panic .. been in the same situation myself.. youve recognised you have problems, and are dealing with them.. well done0 -
Hi Mandi
Thanks for the advice, will give them a ring.
I was panicking yesterday because i couldn't think who would want to deliver papers to my door. I have rang all my creditor's and they are all cool with my payment plan. Then i thought i better ring the council tax lot, the chap said that a liability order had been sent. I told him what I'm going to pay and he said that would be fine.
I was starting to think have i missed someone of my list of creditor's, is there a bill i missed etc. I'm pretty tight on my accounts now and know exactly what coming in and going out. I have worked so hard on this that i didn't want anymore surprises.
This time next year i will be debt free, it will be a struggle but well worth it.
Thanks everyone0 -

I expect it was some sort of process server from the Council. Just because you told the person at the council he probably will have forgotten by now, they don't care, put it in writing TODAY that you are making this payment at the end of the month.
These type of people, bailiffs, process servers etc have no morals or scruples, they will call you Tony and I am surprised they did not tell your wife he was friend of yours and could he wait inside for you. DO NOT LET THEM IN.
I am so surprised that these people are employed by seemingly respectable firms to behave like bully boys, lets try and think of something to stop this and all the worry it causes.Loretta0
