Hello karensmith
I'll move your thread to the 'Pets & Pet Care' board.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

Weve just bought a new cockatiel and cage and found the best deal on a cage was from argos cage and loads of accesories and toys for £50, this cage is white but i wanted a black cage so got stung for everything and it came to a load more than £50.
Or have a look on adtrader.co.uk and see if they have any cockatiel or parrot cages. The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

As always, keep an eye on Ebay too. I spent £80 on a brand new cage that should have cost around £200 the other day! Look for items near to your area, a lot of people selling spare cages (rather than selling commercially) wont post them because of the size so you may get a real bargain there too.
Good luck with your tiel, I'm thinking of getting a couple too!0 -
Years ago when I had them my oh made a cage out of a wire compost bin, it was large and he was clever enough to build a roof and cut holes for the food bowls. Mine had the run of my house though so it was only so they could eat and sleep.0

You said you live in the Derbyshire area, do you live anywhere near Long Eaton?
I've got a spare cockatiel cage that is quite big that you're more than welcome to have free of charge as I don't use it anymore.0
