I bought a programmable rowing machine and a rechargeable vacuum cleaner ages ago and never really used them.
Both of them have got transformers which got put in the same place and now I'm sure which is which
Is there any easy way of finding out which is the right one without the chance of knackering either of them up ???
The only difference I can see is that the output for one is quite alot higher than the other.
The transformer for the rower just powers a small computer thingy on it...

Whenever I buy a new gadget (fairly often!) I put a little sticker on the adapter and write what it is for on the sticker then I never get confused (about adapters anyway, I still get confused about everything else!).
Where you plug the adapter into the device it should say on the device what input voltage/amps it uses and you can match this with what it says on the adapter as they often don't have makes on them.0 -
I'm a plug 'n' play kind of guy..
I've got loads of power blocks and gadgets. if they fit in the hole i plug it in.

The computer thingy on the rower doesn't say anything that I can see
But the vacuum says it's 16.8v and one of the transformers is 18v
Does this mean that's the one or should the transformer say 16.8v too???
I know it's not the other transformer coz that's only 6v...You should never call somebody else a nerd or geek because everybody (even YOU !!!) is an"anorak" about something whether it's trains, computers, football, shoes or celebs:rotfl:

they rarely do the stated rating. so 16 or 17v output is more like it.

Do the sockets fit the adaptors?but I'm pretty sure the adaptor on the end of the cable to the transformers are the same which led to my confusion originally
