Replacing kitchen sink - plumbing query?

Hi, Any plumbers out there who can give advice.
We had kitchen refitted 2 years ago, but have regretted the choice of kitchen sink ever since - various reasons. Have now decided to have it replaced.
Spoke to joiner who did original kitchen and he says this is no problem as long as I choose a sink no smaller than the original one as obviously this would leave a gap on worktop. I can't contact him as he's away on holiday this week but I've seen the sink I like on special offer, so need some info before buying.
Sink is a good match in size for original one, BUT the waste hole is in a different position in the bowl (existing one towards back of bowl, new one towards left side). The plastic pipework under the sink has a dishwasher on one side and a washing machine on the other side feeding into the central pipe. Is the different waste position a major problem or something easily adapted?

waste posistion should not be a problem really. Will mean rebuilding your waste system under the sink mind you but should not cost say no more than £10-20. Are you fitting the sink yourself or you having a plumber fit it? do you have plenty of room under sink? for this new waster bare in mind the old one wont be there?£10 a day - Sept 08 £245/£3000

Thanks for info. Yes there is plenty of room under the sink. Joiner will be doing work, but he works in conjunction with a plumber, so this side of the work should be taken care of. My concern was that I would end up with the problem of tradesmen shaking their heads and telling me that what had to be done would cause a lot of work and cost a small fortune.
I'll go ahead and order sink while it is on sale.0 -
Its not likely to be a problem. The plumber might have to use some new parts, but they are not very expensive.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Thanks for info. Joiner is back home now, so I phoned him and he says change of waste position is no problem and can be easily altered. I am now waiting until weekend to buy sink when it is on special offer at Homebase. When I called in last week to place order I was told to hold on until Sunday.0
