AOL Starts itself

Hi there. Wonder if anyone can help. AOL starts itself randomly. I have "do not dial a connection" ticked in Internet Options. Happens quite a lot but not at regular intervals so do not know what is happening to make it do this. If I leave the desktop computer on and am using the laptop sometimes this is can be stopped by the message (roughly) you're session has been interrupted by AOL signing on and when I look at the desk top it has signed on itself. I've looked everywhere for answer to this but most say to tick the never dial a connection in internet options. Computer also puts itself into suspend mode when left on even though again I have this ticked not to happen and aol then shuts down!!!!!
