    Hi,

When I had a dmp with them we went through everything on the telephone. I had an appointed advisor who went through my income and expenditure and helped me draw up a budget plan. She sent me forms to fill in and I returned these along with statements from creditors, payslips etc. I seem to remember signing a sort of release form to allow them to deal directly with creditors on my behalf.
I set up either a standing order or D/D which went out on the 1st of every month and they did the rest.

They do a review once a year where you draw up a new budget and adjust your payment if necessary. With my dmp, when one creditor was paid off they used their payment against the debt with the highest amount owing but this may not be standard (I don't know).

Anyway, my point is that this is a great relief to anyone suffering debt problems, they gave me the breathing space to get back on my feet much quicker than I thought I would and now I am working on rebuilding my credit rating.

Best of luck to you, things can only get better! :D:D
  • THanks thts good to know my only problem is that i dont have any documentation from the creditiors i dont even know how to get in touch with them myself as ive been on a dmp with ac finance for about 3 years now they take about £30 a month in amnagement charges is there any way i can find my reference numbers and their contact numbers?

    Hi,
ac finance should be able to provide you with all this information. When I took back the reins from cccs they gave me a load of information with addresses, reference numbers etc. They also sent me a statement every month with the reference numbers on. You could also try getting a copy of your credit report and try tracing them through there.

Speak to the cccs first though as they may be able to go direct to ac finance and get all their information for you.
  • Thanks i have tried ringing allcear for the information before but they are abit funny think theyve got the hint i want to finish the dmp with them !

my BF has just started a DMP with CCCS they have been great ,we have started paying and today recieved our first statement ! they were totally helpful and left him enough money to live on (which he wasnt having before) they have dealt with all the creditors he had an interview over the phone to go through is incomings and outgoings then they sent us a pack and we sent in all they asked for paperwork wise and they agreed with him how much to pay a month ,very straightforward ! so good luck hope you find them as helpful as we did good luck paula x
  • Hi.
I did the debt remedy online, then I called them or someone called me (was a couple of months ago). Basically once I said yes am going to do this, they sent through a template letter to send to the creidtors to make a token payment whilst the plan got off the ground.
I did have to sign and send back some documents. Now, don't worry you do not have their addresses as long as you have account/customer numbers. You do need to send proof of all your sources of income, so I copied a bank statement and highlighted all my incomings.
They got up to date balances and wrote to the creditors, figure they must have addresses for them. However, not sure where you would send token payments or whether you could do a last payment with fee paying firm and new payment with CCCS when old payment would have been due.
They have just sent me a statement today but i delayed plan for a month, so nothing had come off.
They work out all the pro rata payments and send it you once you have sent paperwork back.
All you have to do is open all your mail and send or phone CCCS with anything they need to be aware of, like if debt gets passed to an agency so they pay the right people. Not sure you have to have contact with creditors, I choose to ignore mine, though think I am going to have to contact three just to say, hello on DMP, CCCS have sent you all the paperwork but will do it by letter.
All seems efficient apart from creditors lol.
Good luck with whatever you do but you need to get away from fee paying one.
  • right ive been at this all day sat and wrote out my finances creditors numbers found out all my balances ect and completed the debt remedy it said the pack will come in the post do they ring you to set up or is the pack it??? I have got a payment due out to ac on the 28th so going to let them take that and pay creditors this month while cccs sets the low start dmp up, is anyone else on low start just wondering what limit it changes to a normal dmp as it is ill be paying for 11yrs 11month:eek: but cars paid up in may so itll decrease to about 7 then , still a big headache but feel much better after all ur support and advice thankyou

    Hey truly miserable

Basically it will be a booklet explaining what CCCS are all about, an agreement, that you sign and send back saying you want to go ahead, a copy of the budget for expenses which is handy, a template letter you need to photocopy and send to all your creditors with a £1 token payment which informs them to deal with CCCS and details of how to pay.

I wouldn't worry too much about debt free time they quoted as you will have given them your basic salary, I've opened an account up (on CCCS advice) and any overtime/bonus/ebay earnings/mystery shopping/change jar/lotto wins (teehee) are going in there and every 3 months i can make an over payment, apparently this way CCCS split the money to the creditors and they don't start hasseling me to up my monthly payment as its a one off i think i worked out that if i keep doing the overtime i have been mine could drop from 10 years to 6 within a year!
