Its the same stuff in nappies?
It isn't as good as a sand bag as the density of the bag will be the same (near as) as water. If you have a flood and want to create a barrier to pump over, these things will just float off into the sultry English summer. They don't illustrate this scenario.
A sand bag will be heavier/denser than water and will sink, hold fast and create a barrier, you then can pump over the top.
I wouldn't like to try them out for the first time when I had a flood.
I guess the selling point is they take up less space than sand and some bags.
Given the weather I think investing in some sacks and a few bags of sand, some thick plastic etc etc wouldn't be a bad idea.0 -
Hello bloodymary
Welcome to the MSE site.
I'll move your thread to the 'Flood and Storms Help & Information' board.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.
