How often are they? How much notice do ebay usually give?

There are usually 15-20 per year, but the format is changing from cheap listing to longer term promotions such as Free Gallery through the summer, and cheap days for specific types of listing, such as BIN or Auction.

There is normally about 1 weeks notice, but occasionally news can slip a further week ahead of that.

Auction insertion fees are dirt cheap to start with, and Cheap Listing days tend to just flood the site with junk and duplicate listings, making things harder to find, and suppressing final selling prices. The bulk of the cost of selling on ebay is from Final value Fees, and paypal fees, neither of which are ever discounted.

Free gallery is now a permanent fixture and as said above all front end fees (ie listing fees) are (or will be from Sept 24th) down in price.

I guess there will still be promotional days (half price upgrades for example) and wouldn't be surprised if there was something within the next week or two;)
