Last year we had a stocking filler thread...perhaps we should renew it for this year.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

My son is 12 on 22nd December and the one thing I know he likes is MONEY - so i've deceided to use about £50 and put different amounts in different size boxes, that way it looks like he has a lot of stocking fillers but dosen't end up with a load of stuff he hates0

We have managed to get some real bargains thanks to MSE. MP3 Players £70 down to £19.99, Nike trainers £90 down to 39.99. All their Ps2 games cheap from Play.com and sainsbury's etc.
It just gets harder as they get older doesnt it, trouble is that all these things cost a lot too, so if we had bought the trainers for the original price, there wouldnt have been a lot of budget left over!0 -
I do like the money in boxes idea. I think that's great. Very tempted to do that myself.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

I don't know if I should be worried but my 14 yr old son heard a Chas & Dave song recently on the radio and thought they were good :rotfl:
So I have bought him their greatest hits as a stocking filler (Play.com £5.99)!!
Just picture it Christmas morning.....Rabbit,Rabbit.....Gertcha.....Snooker Loopy....FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!! :eek:0 -
Well I can beat that one!
Hubby, son (13) and I met up with some relatives who we hadn't seen for a while and son was warned to be a little socialable and not have his head stuck in his gameboy.
So he kept himself amused with the cocktail sticks that were on the table .....and so we've threatened him with getting him some for Christmas!2014 Target;

Remember once when my sister kept herself amused with a duck teacosy at my godmother's house. One year she bought her a duck teacosy of her very own.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Hi
I have 2 boys 11 and half 12 and half, bought all the usual stuff, but have also made promise vouchers, as follows.
I promise you ......
a trip to the cinema
a happy meal
a long lie in
to tidy your bedroom.
a game of bowling.
to clean the bath out after you.
trip to the cinema.
that I will stand in a cold wet muddy field and watch you play footie/ rugby etc.
swimming with you mates.
The list goes on and on with stuff you could use.
They can cost absolutley nothing and I know that they will cause a few laughs in our house on christmas day.
Its easy enough to do on a computer and they can be customised as neccessary.
I stole the idea from my son who is very carfull with money (tight) and made me some a few years ago. They included a cup of tea and a piece of toast.
I usually wrap them in a toilet roll and turn them into a cracker. the more novel the better.
They can be adapted to suit the person i.e sexy for you other half.
Hope this helps
regards
elainel.
also included are prmSWAGBUCKS STTD 10/11/2013

We always have a little Christmas Dinner Table Present where we wrap something jokey (and inexpensive up) and open it after the main course - that would be something I would wrap up (many times and then in a large box!) if it was my son!!0
