I have just contacted B.Gas who supply me dual fuel, spoke with Louise who couldn't have been more helpful- a pleasure. I have used over the past 12 months-
285 units of gas.
4152 units of electricity.
They have recommended I move from there standard charge- I didn't want to fix after reading Martin's advice , to click energy 5 duel fuel which will cost - Gas 5.968p per kWh
2.504p per kWh above 2680 kWh p.a
Electricity
22.69p per kWh
7.43p per kWh above 500 kWh p.a
Louise said this was currently the best on the market. I have just used U-switch and used my exact usage figures as above and my calculated annual price will be £366.59 a current saving of Save £140.98.
I have changed already- thank you Martin that £140 you have just put back into my sky rocket.:money:

Don't want to be the bearer of bad news but I think your calculations are a bit out.
On the figures you quote I have worked out your electric bill to be £384 per annum (this would reduce slightly if you have dual fuel and direct debit discount)
Now to the gas, depending on your type of meter, imperial or metric, you have used either 8977kwh or 3135kwh of gas. This works out at either £316 or £170,less a bit for dual fuel etc.
You did convert the 285 units into kwh before putting into the comparison site?

As an afterthought, I do not think BG have increased the Click 5 tariff yet.

Thanks for the advice- have just recalculated to a total of £455.92- which is still considerably less then paying now, although u-switch recommended Scot power this time but the difference is £6 over a year.
As i'm not tied into any contract when prices change I will look again for best deals. Thanks once again. :T

What Kwh figure are you using for the gas?

Scottish power will come out cheaper because they have not increased prices yet.

I used your lower example- I only pay about £17pm presently. I am the words stingiest user for gas. A while a go BG sent me a cheque for over £180 as they'd over estimated my usage and dd. In the winter I only have the radiators on for 1 hour in the am and 3 hours in the eve. Good point re Scot power, duly noted. and I don't think there has been a recent change to BG click, however I'm under the impression that they limit the availability of it so they can boast to having the cheapest prices without every one being on it.
