credit rating...for other half

up to now i have helped other half in his business because of him getting a ccj he was unable to get a credit card. however i would now like to see him to do his own finances as i cannot get on with what iwant to do in my life. i did pay £100 approx to go to court to clear his records (but my gran fell ill and passed away and i forgot that we were supposed to go) so we are back at square one. if he just pays what they want him to pay (he should never have got a bill) and it shows satisfied and we also put a note in his file how he got this ccj and was not supposed to will this enable him to get a credit card or do we have to physically go to court ? thanks in advance.

CCJs are on file for six years from the date registered, so his chances of getting any credit card are pretty remote at the mo. The only way his credit file (and therefore his chances of a credit card) will improve significantly is over time. He's not affected permanently, but it takes a while to build a good credit history from scratch.
