Slugs on grow bags, getting rid?

I planted my very 1st seeds on saturday (and some have shoots already, hooray!!!). Most of them are in pots except my leaf salads which are in a grow bag on the concrete ground. Was showing my daughter the shoots yesterday and found a huge fat slug right in the middle of them. We often get slugs in the garden/yard and Ive heard about copper tape around pots but any hints on how to protect a grow bag?

surely it would work just the same with growbags just create a square around the hole in the grow bag....Money, Money, Money ..... Banks/Casinos/Bookies give me all you money its a poor mans world....0

copper slug tape. Its sticky just run it round the outside of the bag so they can't slime over it. I have a wooden "erection" in the veg patch round my spinage that is covered in slug tape too. I love it.0

I was going to comment on this, but then I remembered this isn't the House Buying board and you're all rather 'nice' folk on here!:rotfl:
My suggestion for cheapness would be some used cooking oil laced with chilli powder/paste/seeds smeared on the bag.0 -
Slugs and snails apparantly don't like vaseline. I smeared it around my pots and have had no problems. Might be cheaper than the copper tape if cost is an issue. I smeared the vaseline quite thickly, not sure if I needed to though.0

drown the little monsters, put a cup of beer sunk into the grow bag, they drink and sink - shouldn't need to do it for very long, and value beer at 27p a tin works a treat, sprinkling bran also works, the dried kind, they eat it then explode, its wonderfully gross - I have a million 'slugscside' options - and apparantly no life - ahem - !Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
:money:Sleeves up folks.:money:0 -
Believe me this summer I tried Garlic boiled up, copper tape, eggshells, beer
bowls all my veg in pots on gravel and the little supermonsters!!! still got through.eventually i sprinkled salt around the pots n topped up after it rained, which was a lot this year..... I think it's trial and error "what works for some might not work for others"IT'S ALL ABOUT ME!!!:j:money:0 -
i used a weed burner and well fried them lol0
