in Credit cards
Are these hard to apply for? I have a good credit score and history and recently closed a few cards too, I apllied for a LLoyds card and was accepted online but then wrote too and refused, can't understand why. I also have a bank account with them and that sees income of over £1,300 a month.
They didn't give me the chance to appeal or explain their decision (other then credit scoring or contact experian/equifax).
Anyone offer any advice? I applied for a Natwest at the same time and was accepted for that and had the credit agreement too. Currently got a Egg, MBNA and Barclaycard.

I am also a LTSB account holder and didn't have a problem when applied for the platinum card (couple of years ago). Cancelled it a month ago and am posting an application for the LTSB Amex 0% 9mths BT (1st 6 weeks) today. Hope they don't screw me up!!!
I'd definetely go to your branch and speak to your acc manager...Maybe telling that you could switch you current account to A&L for ex...
Currently on sainsburys and ulster gold...
hope this helps!!!0 -

Even though you only have 3 cards at the moment, perhaps the amount of possible borrowing you have on them, compared to your income is quite high??
About a year ago I applied for a Lloyds Create card, and was turned down after having been with Lloyds for some 50 years, with a 100% squeaky clean record. Rather miffed, I wrote and appealed, it got me nowhere. About two months later, a telephone call from a branch where I had simply paid in some money, gave me allegedly a courtesy call, to see if I was happy etc. Said no and why, put on hold while she spoke to the Supervisor, personally checked out my account with them and popped in the post an application form for a Platinum card to the tune of £15,000. Within a week the money was with me (via Egg). So, if you're known in your branch, go in and see them, or failing that ring your local branch and ask them to personally check your details, rather some computer for online purposes deciding for you.0 -
But in the past I had more cards with more credit limit and was fine applying for others, think I'll go into my branch and see what they say, had the same problem with getting and overdraft, call centre said no while branch put £1,000 limit on there for me!2p off is still 2p off!0

I have been turned down by Lloyds TSB under the guise of Create Services.
They deny holding any personal information on me and suggest that I contact Lloyds TSB Platinum.
Department Y,
PO box 25201,
Glasgow G28XD.
They want me to send them my Experian credit report.
Some alternative advice was to do the same to
The Underwriters.
Department Z,
at the same address.

Just an update for everyone and future reference for people in the same situation, finally got my card yesterday but only with a limit of £1,500, rung up this morning and got it increased to £5,000, can now be used to pay off the loan!2p off is still 2p off!0

Was bounced, and I have a quite low credit outstanding to salary ratio
Maybe I was rumbled as a stoozer0 -
Maybe still worth appealing, is all your stooze in savings? I showed them my savings statements in my appeal, not sure if that made a difference?2p off is still 2p off!0
