I have never, and would never use AOL. Unfortunately it is still seen by many as "Oh, that's the best service provider, because they've been around a long time" or "Ooh, they do all that amazing stuff, I've seen them on TV!"... Unfortunately I think AOL will always be one of the top companies, because people who know nothing about computers choose them!

Anyway, I plead with anyone, don't buy a Medion laptop! You'll find Dell etc are usually better spec'd for the money anyway, and a much better company!

Yeah, actually, a bit off topic, but do you have a thread about that? I'd like to have a look. I bought my dell, oh... must be 3 years or so ago now, and have had absolutely no problems with it, which is nice.

It just means that you get a spot on a screen Usually LCD TFT screens
just looks as big as a grain of sugar, a bit like colour is missing...

See the dot in the middle of the ring that is how a dead pixel looks.

A dead pixel is when just one tiny pixel on an LCD goes black (it has died effectively, so will show no colour).

A stuck pixel constantly shows one colour, and will not change (much like the above, but instead of black, a colour)

I'll try and help here :)
As you may (or may not) know, a TFT computer screen display is made up of 'pixels'. Each pixel represents a coloured dot, there are a few different colours in all (RGB). And if you get a 'dead pixel' then basically one or more of these pixels has got stuck and thus 'dead'. A dead pixel doesn't emit any colour, hence a dead spot on the screen
