Hello
I'm looking to do a Red Hat Certified Technician course a home or online, I am a total newbie to Linux.
Would the course above be okay for me to start on? The only experiance I have is with Windows and am MCP certified.

well according to the Red Hat site if you have no experience you should do the following.
Red Hat Linux essentials
Red Hat System Administration or Red Hat Linux Administration (and RHCT Exam)
I do a fair bit of work on Red Hat although I have no certification but came to it from Unix so it wasn't that unfamiliar. Personally I would suggest you build yourself a system and have a mess around with it to familiarise yourself first before thinking about certification.
There's no way we would employ someone who had passed an exam but had no pratcical experience. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -

You might have to contact IT companies in your area to enquire if they have any positions or because it's quite a fierce industry, you might need to consider asking them for unpaid placements to get some worthwhile experience..0

Get a job supporting Windows servers where there are also Linux servers. That way you may be able to get training from the company.
even building a Linux system at home and messing around with it would at least show you have some practical knowledge. It's my problem, it's my problem

I have been looking for an online Red Hat Linux essentials course. I can't seem to find one anywhere or any books.0
