On the off chance a property will come on their books which, in the buyer's mind, (mine) is fair value.
It's a buyer's market after all.
What sellers think is irrelevant.0 -

Not now they have to account for every loan they make.
Also - what a sick society it is when both parents must slave away just to pay some stupid mortgage.
Well for someone who is not looking to buy you do a lot of work finding houses and mortgages.
Sorry you tallking rubbish banks take in to account both incomes so a debt free couple with a good deposit will get a good multiple (4+) of there joint income.0 -

Well obviously not you have not managed to find one?0 -
This says so much about today's market madness. A good multiple is 4 time joint income. This debt free couple will jump straight into a crippling mortgage. No kids, no fun, not much future.justpurchased wrote: »so a debt free couple with a good deposit will get a good multiple (4+) of there joint income.
I love the "its different this time" stuff, no more saving you old fogies, no more three times income - that's the rules for old fuddy-duddies. Perhaps they should keep college graduates out of banking until they hit puberty.0 -

Or perhaps everyon realises pensions are a form of gambling anyway? You may as well live in a house as you cant live in a pension fund.
And why could some one not on a 4x income mortgage not save money if they have a good deposit and no other debt?
I think it is called equal oppertunity's its not being an old fuddy duddie0 -
I did thank you, but of course people can lower their aspirations much further:tomstickland wrote: »When it costs 4Xsalary to buy a 1 bed flat, how much further can someone lower their aspirations?- 75%
- 66%
- 50%
- 33% shared ownership of a 1 bed flat for 4 * salary
After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier In that case for the government
To dissolve the people
And elect another?0 -

Oh my..MM has returned..how are you?
You must be in your element now with all your skint backers.
You called it..maybe two years too early, but hey-ho...Most of them six years too early.
How long before you buy? another year, 2, 3, ..or NEVER
I'm gonna try and help you out here...buy in 2011. You will get a good deal, but I feel you never will (like most on here)
I will be re-buying in 2012 and make another million....hey-ho!!

Someone in a similar industry suffers a life of renting nowadays
TBH, I can foresee the situation where unskilled workers will never be in a position to own property. In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0
