Ivy growing up house

  • Thanks for all your replies. I will try to do the cutting off at the base to try to kill the thing first. I dread to think what its like inside the attic as i cant get up there to look as the attic opening was boarded up when i moved in, but the ivy as already covered all the guttering and over the roof tiles. As for the wildlife living in it, yes birxxdsx have made nests in it and all sorts of spiders and insects come in through the windows. Also when the weathers bad and theres been a bad down pour of rain the front rooms smell of what i can only describe as a mixture of damp and cat wee.

My landlord should be coming to pick up the rent in a few days and i will mention this again. My biggest worry is the heating cost as im already putting £25 a week in the gas meter and once weather gets colder i will have to turn heating up which i cant afford.

    Thanks
