Dry Cleaning or not?

My curtains need cleaning. Looking at the label it states it can only be dry cleaned. They are fabric. Friend says they can be washed using easy care setting on the washing machine. Can someone verify this?

Are your friends willing to buy you replacement curtains if they shrink?;)

As curtains are usually expensive to buy, I wouldn't take a risk with mine. If the care label says dry clean only...............I'd have them dry cleaned. It's worth it to avoid having to iron them if I risked putting them in a washing machine.;)
