  • We have had two MFI kitchens (fitted ourselves) and cannot really fault the supply at all. First one we bought did not come with adjustable feet on floor standing cabinets so we ordered them from Screwfix for the second kitchen, but they came with the kitchen then. I wouldn't buy appliances through them though as I don't think they are of particularly good quality.
  • Homebase and MFI get their kitchens from the same company, it's just MFI get exclusivity on some of the ranges. So i'd check out homebase and see if they do the same ktichen and it will be cheaper

I think it is Howdens that is part of MFI, Howdens is for trade though primarily.

You can go into the store though and get a list of kitchen fitters that cane buy from them.

MFI wise, i had a quote a few years ago for them, £3K for the kitchen then £3K to fit it.

We went to a local kitchen supplier and got a much better one for £5K all fitted.

There's online companies that'll save you money.

We went to a lovely kitchen design place and the girl let us look through all her books of cabinets. This helped us track down the style we wanted. We then came home and researched it.

worktop came from https://www.onefitappliances.co.uk, cabinets came from withknobson.com

Well worth a look to save yourself some money. Esp if you can get a handyman to put the kitchen together. My OH put ours together himself though - nothing very complicated really.

Have a look at Ikea kitchens as they are a lot cheaper & the quality is miles better than any kitchens such as MFI, Magnet etc

howdens units arrive at your house ready assembled and this can save you a great deal of time and patience.....
  • MFI and Howdens are no longer the same company. Howdens still make their own units, whereas MFI are a retailer and purchase the units from an outside company. MFI and Homebase units are not made by the same company, the hinges give that away. Schreiber units are also rigid carcases.
