Ok peeps this board has helped me in the past and I've learned so much!!
However went a bit backwards over the last few months. I had cleared all my cards and things were looking up away to start saving etc
In the last couple of months I've just gone mad and cc debt back up to £1500. I am not even sure on what, how or anything? Looking back at my statements none of it is necessary. it's concert tickets, road tax (which although necessary I am sure I could have funded somehow else), new glasses this week which although the best deal I could find still too much.
so balance transferred and it's now all interest free...but I still know my pin for the halifax one (which charges interest!) Please someone be harsh and tell me the truth!!
i am just scared I need something and I don't have the card to fall back on!!!
xx Jo

Hi Joanne
DOnt just cut up the card, write to them telling them to close the account if the balance is NIL due to balance t'fer to the 0%. I did the cuttingup thing with a card but left the account open "just in case", then transferred a balance onto the "just in case" acoount at 0%, missed a payment by 2 days and now have over £7k a rate of 24.9% on the "just in case" c/c. Wish I had shut the card account down now
Regarding being scared you 'need' something, if the £1500 has gone on unecessary stuff then you don't 'need' itReal Men Do Cry - Even This Scotsman

Destroy it and pay off/cancel the account asap. You will regret it otherwise, no offence intended but you sound a bit 'spendy', you've gotta remove the temptation - any slightly tight month and you'll be falling back on the card.0 -
i cut one of my cards up at the beginning of the year it was best thing a did looking back tho when i called up to close the account 5 times! i should have persisted as now i have the card full up again-i called and said id lost it! and 34% interest to pay on it!
cut it up write the letter to advise on closure and have it ready to post!0 -
I've given all my credit cards to my mum. She keeps them under lock and key so I know I wouldn't use them to spend on. If I did need the card number, security strip number etc though to phone the customer service number for some info on my card I know I can get the card from her.Jan 1st 07 Car loan £4830.46@12% Personal Loan £11,517@8% variable Overdraft £1500 July 2009Halifax-£0Debt free date 14th July 2009 :j0
