Okay, once again, thanks to all for your comments. Yeah I do have plenty of cash in my bank and a good overdraft facility in place, so I suppose that could've swung it if they checked out the balance.
If I go to jail, I'll be sure to toast you all in there for your help anyway :rotfl:

. I was trying to offer a “damage limitation” solution as I thought that they were currently salaried (albeit lower than the new job was imminently going to pay).
My final statement still applies, ie I wouldn’t make a habit of it.0
