Combine video and slideshow on single DVD

Hello,
I need to make a DVD that autoplays combining MPEG video and a slideshow with audio track.
Nero doesn't seem too keen to do this. It does video OR a slideshow.
Can anyone suggest a method or programme to do this.
Basically the MPEG needs to play first (lasts about 7 secs) then straight into a slideshow with audio track. Ideally with no user intervention.
Any ideas very welcome.

Ive done this with Widows Movie Maker by inserting a video clip then a
Jpeg picture and on and on and save movie as a file in Movie Maker then
Burn using nero as a DVD file.0 -
Ive done this on Pinnacle Studio 9, but alas its not a freebie like WMM.0

Thanks for the advice. I think i've found a bit of freeware that might help.
Only problem is I've discovered the video clip is in Nero Showtime .vob format and it doesn't recognise this.
Is there an easy AND CHEAP(OR FREE!) way to convert a vob to an MPEG or an AVI or something similar?
Thanks again0 -

excellent peice of software - tmpgenc dvdauthor will allow you to save on hdd as mpeg 2, and also do your slide show and movie etc. If you need any help pm me. download fully working trial from http://www.tmpg-inc.com/download/tdap.html#trial

Thanks ever so much ianian99 downloading it now.
Mr Skint I did google and I had already tried the software you posted the link for however the trial version only converts one third of the movie and then there was no audio. And it costs $29.95 to buy the full version so to be fair its crap on all counts.
Google doesn't always tell you the answer to everything!0 -
how did you get on?0
