Hi there.
I am unable to install the latest java on my HP laptop.
There was an error on the 6.7 update so I tried to reinstall it but it took the old one off and wouldn't install a new one.
It got as far as downloading the program from the java website then zone alarm popped up and said that java needed to acess the internet, i allowed it but then nothing happened, I tried it without zone alarm on, still no joy, also from file hippo and download.com, no joy.
i have recently had errors for windows installer but java is the only thing that will not install and we need it for internet applications.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi
As none of the experts have offered advice (not being one myself), I suggest trying a system restore to a time before the 6.7 update or you could restore from a backup if you have one.
You would then hopefully be back to the stage when Java was working.
Don't forget to backup any important documents, photos etc to be on the safe side.
Good luck.0 -
Have you tried the "Help Centre" at www.java.com0

Go to http://raproducts.org/ and download and run JavaRa to remove old versions.
Use JavaRa to find newer version or download
Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 7
from here.
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
Hope that helps0 -

Have you tried accessing it from the add/remove programs the uninstall sheild may give you the option to repair rather than uninstall."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"
