You can sign up as a Dog walker and a Dog sitter on sites like Dog Walkers City (Google it). It's free and people
come on the site to find dog walkers in their area. I'm on it and it's a great website.0 -
spabove have already mentioned a few things..
I use a company which has started as a one person business BUT the lady already had a lot of experience with dogs, knew how to match them into groups to minimise risks of any incidents (and those do happen, they are dogs after all), knoew how to deal with emergencies and pet's first aid, insured (she had my keys), certified in dog behaviour, runs puppy classes, does dog walking and boarding plus cat sitting .. All over experience with animals really.
Right now Zara is being collected at 7.30 am and brought back home around 1pm (half day care that includes 2 walks) on weekdays as I am back at work.
Sorry, would not let just anyone (no disrespect here, just reality) to have my house keys and be in charge of my dog....
Also, you say you work as a techaer and have lots of holidays - reality is that people who need/use dog walkers are people who work and need the service around lunchtime on weekdays. So you can only realistically do 2 walks per day, one at 11am and one at 1pm - as you have to allow time to pick up/drop off dogs before/btewwen/after walks so 2 hours per day work only really which stretches into 4-5 hours but you get paid for 2 hours only.
Dog walker has to be realiable - my current one is going to go away for 10 days soon and for 3 weeks later in the summer BUT she got cover organised, someone who also knows my dg/dog knows her and I feel comfortable about....

HI I am from Preston Lancashire, I am not expereinced in dog walking so would probably just want to walk one at a time to start off with.
Scary. Have to say, I wouldn't pay you to walk my beloved dogs with no experience. Have you considered volunteering at a local rescue? Help them out and give you valuable experience.0 -
