Capital One 4% cashback but only on first £1500

A couple of months ago, my wife applied for a Capital One card offering 4% cashback for the first three months. After two months of statements, we've noticed that the cashback is capped at £60 per month, which after spending £8000 is a large shortfall. When we queried this with Capital One, they told us that the cashback is only earnt on the first £1500 each month. I am 99% sure that there was nothing obvious or prominent on the application page of their web site about this cap, even if it was buried in the T&Cs. Can anyone confirm? I've tried searching Google and https://www.archive.org for the original application page, but without success.

It was prominently displayed on the website when they ran that product.
Here's a typical advert for the card at the time...

You'll find other examples by googling "capital one cashback card 4%" (without the quotation marks).0 -
I took out the same card and was aware of the £1500 limit per month so it must be in there some where. Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0

I have no doubt it was in there somewhere, but most probably in the small grey font that is almost illegible at the bottom of the page, where they hide most of their undesirable information. When I took out my own Capital One card in December, they didn't have this cap.0
