my best mates daughter is pregnant, and has just split up with her boyfriend and has come back to live at my mates.My mate is on a very low wage, and obviuosly can't afford to support her.Any idea of what benefits she is entitled to,she is ringing welfare rights tomorrow, but any ideas would be great tonight.:D

Assuming she is not going back to work at anytime soon, once baby is born she will be entitled to:
Income Support
Child Tax Credits
Child Benefit
If she is working more than sixteen hours, she will receive:
Working Tax Credits
Child Tax Credits
Child Benefit
She may also receive a Maternity Grant, and SMP/ Maternity Allowance.
Also, if she gets her own place, she may be entitled to LHA and CTB, depending on income.
To get an idea of figures, if you enter some details at www.entitledto.co.uk, this will give you a good idea. For more details of the relevant benefits, enter them into the search engine at www.direct.gov.uk.Gone ... or have I?0 -

If shes over 6 months preggs and unemployed she should go onto income support instead of job seekers allowance. She should go to her local job centre0
