Both of my VM connections are running at ~ 20Mbps and 10Mbps, nothing unusual.0

I want your internet!
So do I!
Had to test mine to see if that test was working OK.
Mine is OK, but not that good!

Just noticed that. (see my edit above).
Are VM better than NTL used to be? They were a nightmare when I was a customer.

It's a case of the devil and the deep blue sea. NTL had major issues amalgamating the regional cable companies into one infrastructure, Virgin Media seemingly have done very little to rectify the problems they've inherited and enforced the rather militant traffic management policies instead of investing heavily in the network infrastructure itself.
When it's working, it works well, it just breaks down when something goes wrong. I think my business manager has bored the full brunt of me on the occasion when an engineer decided a property can't have two broadband lines and took one out, that was a fun day for all involved.0 -

To be honest VM are NTL/Telewest.
Virgin never actually brought the company but do own non controlling shares.
They use the Virgin name/brand as the NTL/Telewest brand was tarnished in the UK and were loosing customers all over the place re branding to VM was a way of trying to say the company has changed hands but in fact it did not and is being run by the same firm.0 -

Yep. I know that. I was just wondering whether the appalling customer service that myself and others seemingly had has improved now?
When I was with NTL, saying that they "couldn't find their backsides with their hands" would have been a compliment.
