What Happended With Your Court / Or ??

Hi All
I like this link. I went BR in July.
I went to a turn up and wait court so they will see you any working day before 11.00.
Told to take 3 copies but they only took one. The clerk was lovely quickly checked the forms. Then had to wait to see the judge.
Waited 45 mins and saw the judge. Took 5 minutes and the judge was kind.
This court assistant told me to go straight to the OR for my interview and asked me to allow 1.5 hours on the car park meter.
I had all my business and personal papers with me covering the last 12 months. The OR met with me for 60 minutes and asked me to come back 2 days later as I was running a business. I had to complete additional business forms.
2 days later I had a 3 hour meeting which resulted in my SOA. I was advised I was unlikely to be required to give further information as I had literally given everything in one hit based on what I learned from the forum.
It was a 10-15.30 on the first day as I went through the courts and the OR system. Took sandwiches, soft drinks and a good book.0 -
Thanks for starting this thread. Although still quaking in my boots at the thought of it, this was incredibly reassuring.
One day I will add mine!:rolleyes::j BSC 221 :jJanuary 2009 Club Number 7BR 30.01.090 -
Heres mine:D
No real wait for court, rang monday in on wednesday (i think:o )
3 copies of BR papers exempt form ant proof
Staf where brill and did there best to put me at ease
had to se Judge, realy nice bloke, told me not to feel guilty as its the banks fault for being reckless (sorry BH only repeating what he said:p )
Also warned me to watch the OR as i was on IB they had no right to enforce an IPA but may try as they are target driven so dont always act correctly:eek: (no you dont say:rolleyes:
)
Was quite impressed Bank account and all payments had been sorted before the day (thanks to all advice i got i was well prepared...thanks guys;) )
That was it really back downstairs to clerk short call from OR,s office went home feeling a bit numb.
OR intrviw by phone a couple of weeks later, nothing out of the ordinary really , just answered "havnt a clue " to most of the questions anyway.
One brief phonecall a week or so later to clarify something and that was the last i heard till i got my ED at about 7 months
Still not opened a bank account, still using OH,s, not that i need to much, i could get by without it with a couple of exeptions, so never saw the need to open my ownThats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….

Good thread DD
Bankrupt - 29th March 2007
Copies of paperwork to court - Three
See the district judge - Yes and he kindly stated 'You've got yourself into a right mess haven't you?!!'
How accessed the court - Turn up on the day.
Court staff - Fantastic, couldn't have been friendlier or offered more support.
When spoke to OR / IS - 5 minutes telephone call the next day.
Further meeting with IS - 10 minute telephone call a week later.
Evidence - Was never asked to produce anything. Only got rid of my (out of date) credit cards a few weeks ago!!
Received EDREV/IPOQ - July 2007.
Redeived a letter informing me that I should be paying an IPA in August 2007, disagreed with the decision as they'd included CB in the calculations.
Automatic Discharge received - 29th March 2008
Think I faired pretty well. I was told my the OR that as I hadn't returned a letter they'd sent me in August 2007 (the IPA agreement) that I was no longer eligible for an ED. AD was a small price to pay when you consider what I would have repaid in an IPABSC Member 59 - AD 29th March 2008

ooo, like this. Good idea debt doctor!
Copies of paperwork to court - went BR at the RCJ. 1 copy required.
see the district judge no
How accessed the court turned up on the day - first come first served so was there at 09.00 a.m!
Court staff; - Very nice - though they all thought I was a solicitor petitioning for a client. Must be that educated voice of mine!
When spoke to OR / IS ; -Later that afternoon. I had an initial meeting with the O.R.s support staff and a telephone interview a week later.
Had to hand over all cheque books and cards. ALL of them!
IPA: Disputed IPA so it was put on hold until September 2007. IPA was then put in place for £71 per month (due to a pesky pay rise that I got in September!!).
EDREV/DISCHARGE: ED forms were received early September, but did not get ED until 19th Feb 2008. AD would have been 29th March 2008 so there wasn't much in it.BCSC Member 70:j

Hi all,
Thanks for the replies so far folks, seems that almost always the court staff, and DJ are very pleasant and IS ok for most allthough at least two of you have sucessfully challenged IPA's. Thats fantastic !! Bankrupts have a right to have a reasonable standard of living under legislation - well done !

Copies of paperwork to court - Three
See the district judge - Yes and she kindly stated 'You've got yourself into a right mess haven't you?!!' and commented on my poor health & she would sign the paperwork straight away...she said before I left this is the new start you so needed enjoy your life now & get yourself a little better
How accessed the court - Phoned got an appt in under 2wks.
Court staff - Fantastic, couldn't have been friendlier or offered more support...drinks machine was a little strange everything tasted of chicken soup....apart from the chicken soup!
When spoke to OR / IS - Full face to face interview straight after court that lasted under 20mins.
Further meeting with IS - 2 Min call a few days later to clarify my DLA & motability details. Nothing after that...I did have to chase the OR due to hassle from barclays & the fact it tool nearly 8mnths from BR for them to close my account
Evidence - Was never asked to produce anything, not even any supporting documentation from my OH as she works & comtributes to the household bills..In fact found my old bank cards & cheque book the other day :rotfl:
Received EDREV/IPOQ - July 2007.
Didnt receive an IPA as unemployed on long term sick & my only income was benefits.
Automatic Discharge received - 11th November 2008
We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
Bankrupt - 14th August 2007
Copies of paperwork to court - Three
See the district judge - Nope
How accessed the court - Phoned got an appointment within 3 weeks
Court staff - amazing. Very friendly, helpful and non judgemental-the court was cold and dull, with ridiculous mags available (think Morris dancers monthly/whelk collectors weekly:rolleyes: )
When spoke to OR / IS - Quicky call from the OR assistant after being declared BR
Further meeting with IS - Full phone interview 10 days later, about 40 mins long
Evidence - rent agreement/cheque books/cards/statements etc
Received EDREV/IPOQ - 16th Dec 2007
Didnt receive an IPA as not enough income
Ed on 25th Jan 2008. 40 days after EDREV minus 3 days bank hols:T
The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter

That's just reminded me - the judge commented to us about our First Plus loan and how it had put us in negative equity and said "well, they won't get anything from the house sale will they?" with a knowing smile and then muttered "serves them right".
The OR commented on it during our interview too and said they should have been "done" for "irresponsible lending".....!You can't control everything in life....... your hair was put on your head to remind you of that
