hi! everyone.
Can someone tell me why my computer has been booting up twice every time I start it. Its been doing this for the past month now, 9 out 10 times.
Yes, I do log off properly and no I haven't installed any new software/hardware. I'm using XP.
Advice and solutions will be much appreciated, thanks!

At a complete guess (near imposs to diagnose from here) but I would say either anti virus software perhaps set to reboot after a scan, a 'failed' windows update stuck in a loop causing the PC to reboot, corrupted software (probably a driver) or corrupted windows.
Try deleting all files from inside the \windows\prefetch\ directory and reboot.
Running a virus scan and spyware removal software, such as lavasoft adaware won't hurt either.0
