Hi guys
I need to buy a new monitor (27" Dell hopefully). I can't access the site though Quidco or HotUKDeals. Whenever I click on the 'Go to' link, I get a blank webpage and the URL is all wierd:
http://adfarm.mediaplex.com/ad/ck/2397-52163-11728-1?!mpro=http://lt.dell.com/lt/lt.aspx?CID=5212&LID=122756&DGC=AF&DGSeg=DHS&ACD=81768a5cc4be06d7eaa54e14fa35f81f&AID=1083522&DURL=http%3A
From what I know, this Mediaplex company gets commission from Quidco, I think. But then shouldn't I get redirected to the proper Dell site. Nothing else happens.
Worse. If I google Dell and click on the first link, that sends me to a blank page too with adfarm/mediaplex in the URL too! To get to Dell's site, I've got to type it into the address bar myslf
Is there something I can do to stop this?
Cheers

Which browser are you using?
Try clearing out your cache. If it's Internet Explorer, go to Tools then Internet Options and under Browsing History, click delete. If you have passwords or form data stored then leave them alone, otherwise click "delete all". Personally I would click delete all anyway just to be on the safe side.
You could also open a command prompt and type "ipconfig /flushdns" (without the quotes) and hit enter.
Then try the site again and let us know what happens.
Does it happen with other sites from Quidco or google? The pen is mightier than the sword, and considerably easier to write with.

Hi jmc
Solved it! Thank you for trying to help too
Basically I just turned off my Kasperspy Firewall for 15 mins.
As far as I'm aware, I've only seen it happen with the Dell site. I've been visiting it quite a bit lately, keeping an eye on the price of the monitor I want.
Said Monitor had jumped from £440 up to £580 (no really!) which is why I wanted to try UKHotDeals - incidentally, their offer no longer exists but doesn't say expired.
Guess I'll play the waiting game OcUK are taking pre orders, might try there.
Cheers
PS
I still think it's outragous that Dell sell their own monitor for £580, £130 more expensive than buying the same one from a competitor (OverclockerscUK).Sealed Pot Challenge 15 #78
