Bebe Confort Axiss - anyone got one?

Hi all

I am about to buy my first front-facing car seat for my daughter and am looking seriously at the Bebe Confort Axiss due to its swivel action (thought this would be much easier on my back).

It seems to be on sale for a huge range of prices (I've seen it advertised from £159-£239!) and just wondered if anyone had any comments on it (good or bad)? Obviously, if you bought it cheaper somewhere, that would also be good to know!
Thanks

  • We have two - one for each car :D

i love it, even when DS is having a paddy I can still get him into it without too much bother;)

We bought our from toysrus, as they could try them in our cars before buying them. I know they're not cheap, but I think the ease of getting a child into it is worth it.

The one thing I will say is that the straps occasionally get twisted slightly and stop the metal catch moving. If this happens, DO NOT pull and haul at it!(Been there, done that!) Gently work it until it straightens.
    The IVF worked;DS born 2006.

i have just had to sell mine on ebay, due to it not being fitted correctly by the store:mad: been driving around with DD2 in it for nearly a year! I would take a quick look at your car seat belt where you want it to sit - if the buckle end is quite long, then chances are it will be the same as mine and the buckle will end up resting on the seat, which isnt safe!

apart from that, its fab!! a lot easier on your back, always gets commented on! Although, i dont know if it was just me not figuring it out properly, but i couldnt recline the seat if i was simply turning round in my seat IYSWIM. I had to get out, swivel the seat round then recline it. Other than that, it is definitely a great seat!

forgot to say, cheapest i saw was £159.
  • Thanks Jetcat. Sorry if I'm being a bit dense, but what do you mean by the buckle end being quite long? Were you using a lap belt?
I will be using the rear seat behind the driver and the "female" part of the belt is lodged between the seats - do you think this will be a problem?

hiya, sorry it was me being a bit dense - i forgot it is called the female end. On a 3 point belt (not a lap belt) it is the length of the strap of the female part that comes up between the seats. On my citroen xsara, it was quite long (approx 6-7cm) which meant that when the car seat was all belted in, the female part of the seat belt actually rested on the car seat - a big no-no!

have a look at http://www.bebeconfort.com/collection-2008/UKonly/voiture_axiss_installation.htm and you should get a better idea of what i mean. dont let me put you off though - it is still a fab seat, just doesnt fit my car!
  • Ah - with you now! Mine doesn't come out at all, so shouldn't be a problem. Thanks again
