Well, If I can't have a cleaner and a gardener, then no-one else is getting anybody in to do a job for them!

Yous scare me too guess thats a know then he saud i seemed clued up on this subject anyways thanks to you guys i guess and hours of research in works time(dont tell my boss) another quick one my partner works as supports staff for the police does this matter is she allowed to go BR?As i typed that then i just thought she was offered a pension but never took it do you think its worth starting it up now or not thanks again guys i often look at how many people read what is posted and think to myself how many people your helping it really is something special you do(god i sound like a girl) you wouldnt think i was 6ft 2 15 stone skinhead by my typing(on that note do you think OR will question haircuts as i dont have any?

Her jobis certainly not on the prohibited list. Its just a matter for her employer, if they're not bothered (and why should they be?) then no problem.

As for the pension, do you mean she has been invited to join the pension scheme? If so, I'd wait and get your finances settled down first before upping outgoings. At the end of the day you're only looking at 6-12 months to being discharged and having everything back under your control.

OH and the police support job. She needs to talk to her HR department. Some jobs are deemed risky and open to potential blackmail. She can talk anoymously to them or speak to her union. This should be done pronto.

That's quite correct about certain jobs being deemed open to blackmail, but the logic falls apart slightly in that it is suggested that people in financial dire straits are much more likely to accept a bribe to get hold of some cash.

But bankrupts have no debts so are probably less likely to be prone to blackmail.

Or at least thats my logic! Which, of course, may not be logical at all!

Just told my parents we going BR Dad didnt seem too bad offered to look after any money we would be saving by not paying mortgage etc Mum seemed dissapointed in me 24 years old only son and BR dont think it was her ideal life plan for me. But i got too do right for my family now! So to hell with moral value she might have. I fear the worst is too come when we tell OH parents reckon there could be a big fight her father is a very proud man and will probably blame me for the whole thing but in life you should always standby what you believe in and for me and my family this is the only way.

In general, I would tell the minimum number of people you can get away with. At the end of the day what's the difference between bankrupt and 'tightening your belt because of the credit crunch' to the outside world?

In terms of being successful in life and bankruptcy the two often go hand in hand, simply because to be successful you have to take risks. And by definition risks don't always go in your favour. To prove the point, would you say this was a list of dead-beats? :
