HDTV and Vista Media Centre "lose each other" when input is changed

Hi guys,
I'm having a slight issue and I hope someone will be able to help. My parents just bought an HDTV (I think it's a Tevion something-or-other) so I decided to build them a Vista Ultimate media centre with Blu Ray drive and HD output. I used an ATI Radeon HD3650 built on an Asrock socket 775 mobo and conected it to the TV with a DVI-D to HDMI cable.

It all works beautifully, except if you change the TV input to ATV then back to HDMI or turn it off and on again, all of a sudden the PC and TV no longer communicate. Does anyone know why this is happening? Is there a fix/workaround?

I think if there's no other solution, I can set the Catalyst Control Centre to re-detect the display when it's started, which may help, so if anyone knows of a way to program a button on the MCE remote to start Catalyst Control Centre I'd appreciate that too.

Thanks in advance,
J
