Car Insurance: One Month or Extending to 13 Months

Hi,
I took out my first personal car insurance policy last year with Admiral and managed to get the No Claims Bonus earned through a company insurance policy, however I had to declare one accident from February 2006 which raised my premium by roughly £150.
The problem I have when my insurance comes round for renewal in January is that when asked if I have had any accidents in the last 3 years I will still have to declare it, and pay the extra accordingly.
Is it possible to extend an insurance policy for an extra month, or get a month’s insurance, and secondly if possible would it be worth while doing so?
I know it is a while before my policy is due, but I thought I would try to be well prepared.
Many Thanks,
Gaz

you can't extend for a month without hefty cancellation fees.
there are companies that do short term cover, but it's unlikely to save you any money as it costs far more than a standard policy.0 -
I recently extended my car insurance for the princely sum of £21.50, against a normal annual monthly equivalent of £18.
I explained to my insurance company at the time or renewal that I was in the process of selling my car and needed only a months cover to tied me over.
They tried to sell me another year on the basis that I would then "upgrade" that insurance when I bought I new car. I simply said I was not buying another car at all but cycling. Not true, of course, I just wanted to buy my new insurance on my not yet bought car, without already being tied into an insurer.

Thank you both for the quick replies,
I thought what tinkerbell said would be the case, however thank you sujman it has given me hope and some level of confidence when the time comes that I may be able to come up with some sort of arrangement out of my insurance company.0 -
Admiral won't do it. (Used to work for them).0
