Probally find your chimeny stack is supporting some thing or another. If you remove your stack downstairs the one upstairs aint supported if you remove the one upstairs the chimney aint supported.
Its more hassle than its worth really.
Everything you dream of is possible but most of the time it costs to much to do these small things.£10 a day - Sept 08 £245/£3000 -

first off, i am aware that the costs will be expensive, i believe i asked the question, does anyone know how much approx would the price be??
Also, regardless whether it may be hassle, I HAVE DECIDED I WANT MY SIDE OF THE CHIMNEY STACK DOWN ALONG WITH ALL THE CHIMNEY BREASTS ATTACHED TO IT _ FROM GROUND FLOOR TO CEILING..
also, thank you for the rpelies, but please, if there is anyone out there or can answer my questions above i would be much graeful. unfortunalety im not here asking for peoples opionions im here becuas ei have heard this is the best sight to get the answers to the questions.
please excuse me, if this may come across abrupt, but im in a hurry for answers rather than opinions.

We have just removed a chimney that used to service a boiler in the kitchen. As we were going to re-do the kitchen we thought it would be the ideal time to do it. the kitchen was very small and we have gained 600mm of wall space. It took the builder a couple of days to do the work and cost us £600 ( not bad we thought for 2 builders for two days) The chimney was taken off up to the loft and was then supported by gallows brackets. + points we have gained lots of room in the kitchen and bedroom. - points lots of mess and putting right to do ( not too bad as we were doing up the kitchen anyway. If you have a good builder he will let you know what is possible and if the space gained is worth the expense.
hope this helps, Neil0 -

Would recommend you get a builder and/or structural engineer in to check... there is no way to know if removing this brickwork will cause weaknesses elsewhere in the property. It depends on the age of the building, whether there is damp in the brickwork, if the bricks are damaged - in short you will need professional advice based on a visit to your property..... and as we don't have any of those details it's impossible to answer your questions!
Of course, it's possible to make any changes you like in to your property in any timescale you want - if you have the money! If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got.

unecessary (sic) remarks? Like what you don't want to hear but are realistic critiques on your request for fast answers without providing details?
Speaking for myself, I can only offer advice based on what info you have provided, would you prefer it if someone replied telling you it's ok to pull down the bricks, it'll take a day and cost £500? Or someone to tell you that it could open a can of worms, take weeks to put right and cost you thousands? In your shoes I would prefer to hope for the best but prepare for the worst... and still get a structural engineer in first as I'm no expert.... :cool:If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got.
