Virgin Atlantic: Which Version of Boeing 747

Just reading up on virgin flights, namely the MAN-MCO, because it's on offer at the mo. Couple of questions....

Are you able to select seats at time of booking like on sceduled flights? Or is it just at check in, if so how early can you check in?

Is the aircraft operated on MAN-MCO likely to be updated anytime soon?

How do they compare to sceduled airlines, in the way of comfort, allways flown AA in the past?

I fly this route each Jan and the Aircraft is absolutely fine. Yes you can prebook seats and food.

All those moaning should consider paying the extra and upgrading because the VS fleet of 747's are no worse than the other airlines.

RE check in: I normally check in online at home and then turn up and drop the bags off about an hour or so before the flight. If you want to check in in person i think check opens 2 or 3 hours pre flight.

The ONLY problem with the VS out of MAN is that it has the old snidey IFE whereby its like watching a video. Not the On demand that LHR has.
