Diverting Calls

Hi All.

I currently have my phone and broadband with BT.

I started advertising my home phone number to receive business calls, i divert when out of home to my mobile

This is becoming quite costly my last bill was £220 with £130 on diverting calls.

Are there any other options available to me?

My contract with bt broadband end next month so i am happy to change phone and broadband if neccessary.

You can stay with BT and use a CPS provider to handle the mobile calls. Primus Option 2 with the Penny Mobile add-on has been recommended several times for diverting to mobile - I think it costs 20p per call for up to 20 minutes. Do a search on the forum for more information.

Another option is to nominate the Mobile Number you are diverting calls to as your BT Friends & Family best friend number.Then add Mobile Saver

and the cost of the diverted mobile calls will be reduced by 40%.

The existing charge for calls on Mobile Saver without the 20% best friend discount is 9 pence per minute (ppm) in the daytime and 5 ppm in the evening. From 16 September 2008 this will be simplified to 7.5ppm at any time of day. So your best friend number will then cost 6p a minute to call,plus the appropriate connection charge.

I already have diversion set up with BT.

Do you have the web address to primus?

Also does this mean if i switch call s to primus i wont really be able to change broadband?

No, I pay BT for landline rental and broadband but CPS my calls via Primus (Penny Mobile 2). A BT landline means you can choose any ADSL broadband supplier.

My Primus bills show each diversion costs 17p excl. VAT. There's no additional connection charge.
