Dissertation page numbering HELP

Hi all. in a panic here, as Diss is going to binders on tuesday.
I have to number the pages in my dissertation, which i've done, but i've now been told that i need to use Roman numerals for the title page and contents and then ordinary numerals thereon after. In other words, i have to put in i, ii, iii, iv..for my first four pages, and, from then on, put in 1, 2 3 etc. So the numbering has to re-start.
I only know how to do numbers starting at 1 on page 1!!!
I'm using MSWord and can't seem to find how to do this. Does anyone known that can help???? thanks

what you could do is cut and paste the first four pages into a new document and use roman numerals, and then keep the same numbering system for the main document

You need to insert a Section Break (set to start on next page) after your contents page, you can then format the page numbers separately within each section, set the first section to Roman numerals style, set the second section to 1,2,3 and start numbering from '1' (as opposed to continue from previous section).
Hope this helps

Insert > Break > Section Break on Word 2003 and earlier versions
It's on the Page Layout tab of the ribbon if you're on Word 20070 -
