Hi - I just wondered and am quite worried....in my attempt to manage my debts I recently applied for a credit card so that i could do a balance tfr...anyway, Im not entirely sure I stated that I had a loan in addition to the 2 existing credit cards I stated I had.....would the creditor say that theyd never have given me the card if I had stated this to the OR and call it fraud? Is Omission fraud?
Also, how far back does the OR look into your financial affairs?
Also if I have had child maintenance unofficially paid to me directly then would the OR say I had to claim child maintenance to help my finances or refer info to the CSA? Im doubting this but am still unsure.
Also, do they freeze your childrens accounts if they are under your name?
If anyone could help put my mind at rest then I would really appreciate it!

I dont know about the childcare bit but as for the card transfer the OR may not be impressed but if you didnt extend it to more credit i doubt it should be a problem. As for "forgeting" one loan agian it may raise an eyebrow IF it comes up, but doubt it will as most creditors dont even respond to the OR,s reports as there is no financial benefit for them really
As for how far back that seems to vary but 12-24 months seems to be the norm, only going back further if that reaviels anything worth following up, or if you point anything out in your SOA that warents looking further backThats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….

If that is the extent of the "fraud" then don't worry about it. We make mistakes -all of us.
The OR will look into your affairs as far as he likes. Its a bit like asking how long is a piece of string, because we really do not know. If there are "dodgy" transactions recently, then he would obviously look further back. If all looks okay the don't worry about that either.
Maintenance is maintenance, whether is it "official" through the CSA or unofficial. You will have to declare it either way on your I&E forms. The OR has nothing to do with the CSA and cannot suggest you go via that route. Who is to say you would get any more from via CSA??
Yes and no. I did not list my childrens accounts as they are not mine. So have not been looked at, at all (as far as I am aware). Although some people have had childrens accounts frozen, then un-frozen. Perhaps best in the short term to withdraw the funds and open new accounts elsewhere in their own names? Or a relative you can trust to be trustee?0 -
What does 'dodgy' transactions mean?0

A large sum of money disapearing from your account with no explanation would be queried for exampleThats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….

Exactly that! If you have transfered large sums of money anywhere, unaccountable funds wandering around etc.0 -
Oh right! I wasnt sure...I was thinking if you'd spent more than usual all of a sudden or something...0

Well, that would depend on what you spent it on! Fast cars and lose men then the OR may a bit annoyed :rotfl:. Day to day living expenses etc, then don't worry.0 -
So buying a months food when you dont usually buy it monthly wont raise suspicion?0
-
Nah. Don't worry about food. Thats a normal living expense.0
