Connecting mulitiple lcd monitors to laptop

If I have a laptop with a small screen and a 17-inch external lcd monitor that has its own usb ports on it, is it possible to add an additional external monitor by just linking them via usb cable between monitors

  • No ooooooooooooooooooo dont be silly

Plug it in with the monitors video cable (15pin) and set the laptop to ext. monitor, normally with a function key + F2 , there is a square on the correct F key

Thanks but isn't that the procedure for connecting one external monitor to the laptop? I am asking how to connect two external monitors.
  • You wont be able to unless you spend some money.

You can get a usb graphics card (and also a usb monitor).

googling , the usb graphics card is about £48.
  • graphics card for a laptop?

Is it designed to be a computer monitor, or do you mean to say TFT instead of LCD.

You can only add two external monitors if you have two video outputs on your laptop (unless you go down the route of adding an external graphics card).

If your laptop only has one video output then it only sends the signal to one monitor. Even if you could connect another monitor to the first monitor, how would the laptop know it was there and how would the first monitor detect what data is meant for it and what data is meant for the other monitor?
