Screen Fade LCD TV - Panasonic Viera TX32-LXD600

I turn the TV on & after about 30 seconds the screen fades to black though the sound remains. I've checked all the different inputs so it seems to be a problem with the screen it

TV is about a year old - and with my luck just out of warranty

So get the retailer to repair or replace it.

Buy from John Lewis next time, assuming they still have the 5 year warranty.
    But yours sounds repairable.
  • Do you have a Plasma TV? I usually recommend going for LCD TVs rather than Plasmas as they last a lot longer. Well anyway…sounds like you need a new LCD TV. Go for a Sony Bravia model. It’s provides the best quality I’ve seen so far in my opinion. Here’s a selection to get u started http://www.checkcost.co.uk/lcd-tvs/c/4329/ .

Based on? Current generation the displays last about the same for plasma and LCD, 60 to 100,000 hours, or about 40 years of frequent use. The failure rate of the component electronics will be about the same anyway as those technologies are the same.
