Trades Recognition Australia - pants!

My partner and I have been hoping to emigrate to Australia.
We used the services of an immigration agent, which cost $270.
We sent our skills application off on 6th August and paid $500 for the "priority" assessment which was supposed to take 60 days.
15 weeks later and today we finally had a reply - the result we dreaded the most: FAIL!
Well, we're both gutted about it and now have to start all over from scratch..... >:(

I read somewhere that South Australia (I think Adelaide is there) has relaxed its immigration policy as they want more brits to emigrate there.
I read it here:

Good luck with your future application. we want to move to Canada at some point in the future, but that is another difficult place to get into!I'm so sexy it's a wonder my underpants don't explode.0 -
Thanks, yes they have lowered the points but you have to have your work skills assessed before you can apply for the actual visa.
We have a new agent on board who knows what he's doing so hope to have some news by the end of the week and hopefully get the new TRA application in next week.
Only another 3 month wait after that, then another 3-4 months for the main visa, but it will be worth it in the end. ;D0 -
Isn't it easier to get a 2 year temp visa first?
if you need any more help let me know i will try and find out for you from my brother. He moved to Perth about 5 months ago and my cousin has just gone out to him last week......©..®..(TM) NothingVentured.

Hello Izzy
We looked into that but don't want to up sticks and move over there without a permanent residency visa under our belts.
Not to worry, we're putting together our new application at the moment and hope to submit it in the next week or so.
They are failing a lot of people at the moment, which is most annoying as they are crying out for trades people!
Don't know what they are playing at really. >:(0
