First choice holiday

I've been to a self catering wing of a hotel in Spain (I forget the name now), and we didn't have any maid service and they said we were supposed to use the same towels and bed linen for a fortnight. They also thought two bath towels and one hand towel was adequate for a family of four.
Managed to get the bed linen changed after complaining a few times, and another bloke broke into the towel store one night and stole towels for the whole corridor :rotfl:
Never got the apartment cleaned all the time we were there and there was nothing provided to clean it yourself. My youngest had spilled a glass of fresh orange juice on the floor and it was really sticky but they wouldn't loan me a mop to mop it up.
Sorry to hear you had a bad holiday OP. Hope you can get something sorted out. Here I go again on my own....0 -
OMG - We've just come back from an AI holiday in Tossa - cost us £1600 for the 4 of us - only 1 classed as a child as she's 14 now.
Hotel was spotless, cleaned everyday - fresh towels - wonderful buffet 3 times a day plus snacks and drinks etc. You also need to contact ABTA if you don't get any joy from 1st choice.
The way that compensation works is they divide it into 3 elements - the flight, the hotel and the transfers and if any of these parts fail then you should be compensated accordingly - have a look on the ABTA website. If you still don't get any joy then the final thing is small claims court, but tell the TO before you do this to give them another chance to put it right. Have you got photos or any other evidence of the conditions?Noli nothis permittere te terere

You pay £2,500 for a holiday and they offer you £130 in vouchers! Whilst it's an absolute insult, it's something to work from. Mention that after the way you've been treated by their Representative in the resort complex and on your return why on earth would you want to book with them again. Tell them that £130 in their vouchers is totally unacceptable and doesn't come close to making up for the disappointment (try not to use the word inconvenience too much as you/they can't put a price on that) Use the words 'gesture of goodwill' on this occasion I am prepared to accept £*** in the form of a cheque in full and final settement. Unless of course you want to use them again, not all their holidays can be that awful, then negotiate what you would be happy with. At the end of the day, vouchers aren't costing them anything. Good luck.0

Well done and persevere. I agree I would put a figure to them of how much I want.
I like how they suggest the maintenance man made several efforts. Was there any reason they couldn't have replaced the fridge?0
