Rent *then* Buy Housing/Building Companies

Hiya everyone.
Im hoping one of you lovley people can help me out. My boyfriend keeps hearing an advert for a housing company in the north east (possibly national I don’t know) who are offering new build houses to rent for 12 months then after the first 12 you can buy the house using the rent you paid as a deposit. Now everytime the company name is said he misses it.
Could anyone shed some light onto companies that do this either nationally or in the north east area.
