Someone please help me fit this lightswitch

We bought dd a 'splat' lightswitch from focus last xmas and she has been on at me to fit it so i thought 'how hard can it be'..how wrong was i..i have just sent 240 volts through me as thought i had turned the mains off and obviously not as have had them on and off to check...

Anyway we live in a new build and in the wall behind her current switch there are 2 brown wires, one has 2 ends to it and the other has 1 both were attatched when i took the old one off.

The lightswitch only appears to have one bit to screw the wires in and after trying both to no success i am lost..

if pics need to be posted i will be happy to..anything to get the bleeding thing up!

Thanks

Honestly, honestly, if you're not sure, phone a friend and get them to come and help now!! It'll only cost you a bottle of wine, and better than further frazzling!!!!

If you're determined to DIY, then definitely pics needed.

Thanks for the replys, i to be honest wouldn't have followed any of the above link given as none of the pics look like anything we have! I rung my friends husband as i couldn't get the wall switch to go back on and was concerened as it was dd's room, he came out within 10 mins and fitted the new switch for me bless! I am now at ease..thanks again.
