Hi, went to the shops (even though all I needed was some eggs which I could have got from the corner shop) and ended up spending £20 on a pair of boots. Ok, I know that's quite cheap for boots, and I really need a pair for the winter, but feel guilty nevertheless. I hate feeling like this but I don't get paid until the 20th and was trying to be more careful. Haven't had a very OS month at all, in fact might take boots back for refund tomorrow!
It's (sometimes) really annoying seeing people with nice clothes and I feel like mine are c**p, but I suppose they could have huge CC debts or something! I dunno

I found that too. I think the more money you get the more you need. That's why you hear so much on this board about people earning loads of money who are up to their eyeballs in debt. Like it's not enough for them. I was in debt when I worked but since I gave up to have children I paid it off and am debt free.Penny-Pincher!! wrote:Hi
Its funny that 18months ago we had 2 very good incomes coming in, were paying only minimum payments on cards etc and wasting soooooooo much money on rubbish and not saving anything. Now, I am disabled-OH is my FT carer and we live entirely on benefits and we are paying much bigger chunks off credit cards and saving a little each month
Havn't spent anything yet but I think I will end up buying something some time today!!2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -

totally agree with that. I feel so frumpy at work at the moment. I thought a pair of winter boots would be the answer as they would allow me to wear all those skirts I've got hanging in my wardrobe, but now that I've bought some (all within budget, naturally!) I now "need" some smart tops to go with those skirts. Argh!Debt Oct 2005: £32,692.94
Current debt: £14,000.00

Thank you, but why? What have we done to deserve that *blush*
My black trousers were from primark, £8. They have two holes on the seam in the inside leg. Its a disgrace really, but they fit so well!!
Most of my work tops were found in charity shops/car boots, in fact 90% of my work wardrobe is, but mainly "Next" clothes.... I dont feel as though I want to buy anything new though, I think ive gone too far the other way.... I did buy two "going out" tops last weekend and felt incredibly guilty, one for £5 and one for £15 from H&M....
